A role centered on your newborn
A newborn care specialist provides practical, non-medical infant-care support during your baby’s early months. The role is tailored to the family’s needs and the specialist’s experience, with responsibilities agreed before the assignment begins.

Share the hours and days you need. Our team can discuss arrangements and suitable candidates’ availability.
Agree on communication, baby-related tasks, and how the specialist will support your preferred routines.
A newborn care specialist role is not a substitute for care from a licensed medical professional. Learn about the newborn-care role from the Newborn Care Specialist Association.
A newborn specialist focuses on the early infant stage, often for a defined engagement. A nanny may provide ongoing childcare as your child grows.

Answers for your first steps
A newborn care specialist focuses on practical, non-medical care during a baby’s early months. Depending on the agreed role and the specialist’s experience, support may include feeding routines, diapering, settling, baby-related organization, and care logs. Discuss your family’s needs and expectations before hiring.
The roles can overlap, but their focus differs. A newborn care specialist concentrates on the newborn stage, often for a defined engagement. An ongoing nanny role may continue as a child grows and include broader childcare responsibilities. We can help you decide which search fits your family.
Yes. Tell us the overnight hours, number of nights, and expected start and end dates you would like. We can discuss your request and candidate availability. Overnight arrangements, duties, breaks, and compensation should be agreed before care begins.
Tell us you are seeking twin newborn support so we can discuss candidates with relevant experience and availability. The current hourly range for twins is $45–$60. Ask about each candidate’s experience with multiples and your planned schedule.
Contact us during pregnancy when possible, especially if you have specific dates or overnight requirements. Share your expected arrival date and any flexibility. If your baby has already arrived, call us to discuss your timing; we cannot promise immediate availability.
Share whether you are considering a few weeks, several months, or another arrangement. The length of the engagement, weekly schedule, responsibilities, and candidate availability will shape the search and your written terms.
Our current specialist-pay ranges are $40–$50 per hour for one baby and $45–$60 per hour for twins. Agency fees are separate. Request a written estimate for your schedule and engagement length before making a decision.
Our placement process includes candidate interviews in person or by video, childcare employment reference checks, and background checks. Discuss newborn-care experience, training, CPR and First Aid certification, and any additional requirements with our team. Review the specific candidate’s qualifications before hiring.
